Because these moments deserve more than just a quick phone snap.
Six years ago, I canceled my newborn session.
My oldest had just been born and postpartum ROCKED my world.
I was bleeding, engorged, and way too torn. I had crippling anxiety and sobbed at the drop of a hat. And on top of all of that... I was sleep deprived and trying to figure out how to take care of this precious new baby.
I cancelled on the photographer with my first.
Never hired one with my second baby.
Once my second baby arrived just 20 months after my first, I was SO overwhelmed. I practically had two babies - two in diapers, two not talking, two needing 100% of my attention 100% of the time.
I think I blacked out for a couple of years, because I hardly remember my second as a baby at all.
I have so many regrets.
I think I was just so overwhelmed to even think about hiring that photographer. I wanted someone who knew what I was going through and would treat everything with gentleness and kindness.
So, I launched my photography business in 2021.
I started with weddings, but I wasn't passionate about those. They were long days away from my family - and they're all kind of the same.
I attended my first birth in the fall of 2021 and immediately knew that's the space I wanted to be in. Not to sound cheesy, but it lit my soul on fire.

"She made us feel so comfortable and now I have photos of my little girl that I will truly cherish forever!! If you’re on the fence book her now you won’t regret it!!"

"I had such a wonderful experience working with Kristin! From the moment we started, she made me feel completely comfortable. I could barely tell she was in the room. She has a natural ability to connect with people, and it felt like spending time with a dear friend than a photo session. Her attention to detail, creativity and genuine kindness made the whole process so enjoyable. I’m beyond happy with our photos and I’ll cherish them forever. I couldn’t recommend Kristin enough!"

- relaxed posing and tons of snuggling
- best scheduled for 1–2 weeks postpartum for that sweet, fresh newborn feel.

kinda want birth photos to preserve those little details, but aren't really sure about having another person in the room?
fresh 48 sessions are perfect for sibling/family introductions of the new baby, detail images of their fresh little features, and every detail that you'll want to remember forever.
- takes place at hospital before discharge, or at home (if midwife center/home birth)
- 1-2 hours.
- please don't clean the hospital room! I will move things around as I go.
1. Can you pose my newborn?
Yes, and for their safety I do not place them in any props such as small beds, buckets, etc. I will wrap your baby in a swaddle and do a couple of different simple swaddle poses on a cushion that I will bring with me.
2. How long is the session?
Each session is approximately 60-90 minutes to allow time for soothing, rocking to sleep, feeding, and changing.
3. Do you have a studio?
I rent from East End Loft in East Liberty, Pittsburgh. You can view their studios here!
4. Will you come to my home?
Yes! I prefer newborn sessions to take place in your home. However, if you don't want the stress of cleaning, we can always rent a studio (for an additional cost of $120-$160, pending day and studio availability). Newborn sessions can also take place outside!
5. How many outfits can I plan?
I recommend doing a few with no clothes or just a diaper, a few in a swaddle, and 1-2 outfits. I do have a small collection of clothing, swaddles, and bows to choose from.
